PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION

Self-Assessment of Problem Solving Implementation – District Level  (SAPSI-D) 

Helps monitor ongoing efforts to establish permanent problem solving procedures, tools, and products and thereby implement RtI/MTSS at the district level.  Assesses the extent to which districts are implementing MTSS/RtI in reading and math.

Helps to monitor ongoing efforts to establish permanent problem solving procedures, tools, and products and thereby implement RtI/MTSS at the  school level.  Assesses the extent to which schools are implementing MTSS/RtI in reading and math. 
Monthly Professional Development (PD) Log Documents mode (i.e., face-to-face, phone, video/virtual, email), type (i.e., training, coaching/TA), duration, frequency, and participant roles of all PD provided by I-RtI Network staff.
Networking Meeting: Fidelity Checklist (sample)* Embedded in the presenter agendas/guides for each Networking Meeting. Completed by self and/or an outside observer to determine fidelity of implementation of planned content. Provides ongoing feedback to professional development providers.
High Quality (HQ) PD Observation Checklist – Training Completed by self or an outside observer to determine the level of quality for professional development delivery, to provide ongoing feedback to professional development providers.
Networking Meeting: Evaluation Documents participant perceptions and satisfaction of networking meeting content and delivery.
External Coach Trainings/Meetings: Fidelity Checklist (sample)* Embedded in the presenter agendas/guides for each External Coaches Training/Meeting.  Completed by self and/or an outside observer to determine fidelity of implementation of planned content.  Provides ongoing feedback to professional development providers.
External Coach Trainings: Pre-Post Assessments (sample)* These assessments indicate the knowledge of attendees of the meeting topic before the meeting begins and at its conclusion.
External Coach Fidelity Checklist Completed by self or AWIL/Lead Coach to determine fidelity of implementation of planned coaching follow-up activities and provide ongoing feedback to professional development providers. Also provides an overview of frequency, duration, and audience for coaching activities.
External Coach Self-Assessment Completed each fall by External Coaches to self-assess their knowledge and application of RtI/MTSS skills.  Provides data to align professional development with current skills.
HQ Coaching Checklist Completed by self or an outside observer to determine the level of quality for coaching delivery based on evidence-based coaching principles. Provides ongoing feedback to coaches.
 Coaching and Sustained Support Survey (CASS)  Completed by participating I-RtI Network districts to provide feedback to I-RtI Network staff on the quality and timeliness of services delivered.
Coaching Self-Reflection Survey (CSRS) Completed by I-RtI Network AWILs and Lead Coaches to self-assess their implementation of the coaching and support services provided to districts.

IHE Partnership Evaluation Tools

Tool Purpose/Description
Syllabus Review Completed by IHE Partnership TACs to review course syllabi and document the extent to which MTSS/RtI concepts are addressed in educator preparation coursework.
Faculty Syllabi Checklist Completed by IHE faculty to self-assess the extent to which RtI/MTSS content is taught in their classes for pre-service teachers.

 Educator Preparation in MTSS 

Gathers information about students’ perception of exposure to and resulting knowledge of MTSS/RtI in their educator preparation programs.
Administrator Survey Completed by district or school administrators to evaluate preparedness in MTSS/RtI of newly hired teachers in their schools.
Faculty Satisfaction Survey Completed by IHE faculty to assess their satisfaction with technical assistance provided by the IHE Partnership TACs.
TA Log Completed by TACs to document meetings/activities conducted and professional development delivered, who was involved, what was accomplished, and barriers.
